"Carriage Park met our criteria of an established community with a
social infrastructure and an active population. Our experience so far has
met that requirement very well. We look forward to our new home

My name is Dale Hamlin and I am the developer of Carriage Park. Over the last 40 years I have been involved in 14 major developments, from the mountains of New England to the flats of Oklahoma. I’ve worked along the beaches of the Gulf Coast and the Caribbean to the ski slopes of West Virginia. But no project that I have been involved with has been approached with as much care, thought, effort or true love as Carriage Park here in Hendersonville, North Carolina. And now, after 18 years, I have gathered my family around me to write the next chapter in the development story of this beautiful mountain.

My staff and I are excited to share with you the many and varied opportunities that exist here in Carriage Park.  From the numerous clubhouse activities, to the off-site excursions, to the ease of living in Hendersonville, there is literally something for everyone.  And with a variety of homes and land available, we can meet most tastes and budgets.  Carriage Park is truly my life’s work and for nearly two decades I have helped hundreds of families make this a remarkable place to live. I hope I can help you, too. I truly look forward to shaking your hand in friendship.

I grew up the son of a developer.  Most of the experience my father has, I have… just from a different perspective.  When you move often as a child, you learn how to make new friends, figure out new neighborhoods and get into a new rhythm.  I feel fortunate to have lived in many parts of this great country and I think today that gives me a unique understanding of folk’s mindsets as they consider relocating.
The first 15 years of my career was spent in the film and television industry where I was fortunate to have so many wonderful experiences and work with some extraordinary people.  I worked for some of the biggest media companies in the world and count my years as a Producer, Director and Writer as truly special.

Today I look to draw on my past and build on the significant success that has been achieved over the last 20 years here in Carriage Park. My wife and I are graduates of ELON College, and we are the parents of three wonderful children.  We are happy to have built our family here in Western North Carolina.

I hope that we will have the chance to meet and that I will learn more about you and your family when you come and visit us here at Carriage Park.

Just prior to my family relocating to Western North Carolina, I graduated high school. While Dartmouth and Wesleyan were contenders for my undergraduate schooling, I found myself headed to one of this country’s military academies, The United States Merchant Marine Academy. As a midshipman I was afforded opportunities that wouldn’t have been available to me at a traditional college or university.  I traveled the world- from the Persian Gulf to Europe and Southern Malaysia.  My focus was engineering and I hold a degree in Marine Engineering and a Coast Guard issued Chief Engineers License.  Over the many years of sailing, I worked as an engineer keeping the ship steaming ahead.  In 1995, I decided that coming ashore would be best and I settled down in Charleston, SC.  Since then I have continued my education and hold an MBA.  I now run my own consulting company. My company, Accelerated Potential, specializes in helping very small businesses grow.  My understanding of how small businesses work and how to best move these companies forward has allowed me to help grow organizations from single-man operations into companies with annual sales in the multi-millions.

I hope that you will come visit and see what a unique community Carriage Park truly is.  Well over 400 families have chosen this as their special part of the world.  While I don’t live here full time, my wife and I and our five children come back here as much as we possibly can.  When you come to visit, you’ll understand why!

I am originally from the Virginia/DC area.  The son of a Navy captain, I followed in my father’s footsteps, but chose a different branch of the service. As a Marine, I trained on Paris Island and was ready to serve our country as part of the Gulf War effort, but the conflict ended before I was deployed.  My roots in the Hendersonville area run deep.  As a kid, I spent many summers in the Hendersonville area going to camp, and it was those experiences and memories of this beautiful area that brought me back many years later.  For five years I was a Master Chief for Camp Eckerd, a camp located near the DuPont State Forest, where I specialized in working with troubled youth.
I learned to love this area for its sheer beauty and my wife and I count our blessings as we are reminded how lucky we are to be raising our girls in such a wonderful place.

Here at Carriage Park, I hold the position of Project Manager.  I work in development and building, and with a wide array of local and state agencies.  I also assist homeowners and lot owners with problems or questions they may have.
The beauty of living in a place like Carriage Park is that you become a part of a community.  People are here to help…. whether you need gardening advice or help finding a doctor, someone is always there to give a hand.  It is remarkable the spirit of community that permeates through Carriage Park every single day. I hope you get to experience it, too.
